A wheel consists of a hub, spokes and a rim. In addition, there are tires and inner tubes and, in the case of the rear wheel, the drivetrain parts such as the sprocket , which make the wheel ready for use.
Well over ninety percent of all wheels sold in the bicycle trade are industrially manufactured. So-called lacing and truing machines are used for this purpose, which automatically join and center the spokes and rim in just under three minutes after the hub has been fitted with the spokes. In our store we offer you a range of inexpensive and good machine-made wheels.
Nevertheless, there are situations where it makes sense to build a wheel by hand. Be it that you need a wheel for special loads, be it that you want to assemble a wheel from certain components for your very own needs or be it that you want to reuse a used hub.
Only hand-spoked wheels offer the highest precision and therefore longevity – only by hand and with experience can the optimum uniform tension of the spokes be achieved for the individual wheel, which is the precondition for a permanently stable wheel.

Hubs: Shimano, DTswiss, Miche, Novatec, Surly, Phil Wood, White Industries, Chris King, SON and Shutter Precision.
Spokes: DT Swiss and Sapim. For special applications we are also able to produce spokes in the desired length!
Rims: Alexrims, Ryde, Mavic, DT Swiss, H+SON, Velocity
Please understanding that we only use new rims and spokes for warranty reasons.
We charge 50 euros per wheel for lacing and truing, provided you buy all components from us. New hubs and rims not purchased from us. The price for spoking increases by at least € 20,-. For warranty reasons, we only use our own spokes, and for the same reason we do not use used rims.
For custom-made products, such as the lacing of hub motors, we charge a time and labor rate of € 45,- per hour.
The parts prices for hub, spokes, rim and labor are added together for the total price. If you want the new wheel with full tires, the tube and tire items are added.
